SPECIALISTS FROM UNIVERSITY JOINED TO ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EIGHTH LINK OF TELEMEDICINE NETWORK

On 22, July, 2016 Pokrovsk (former Chervonoarmiysk) joined to already existing telemedicine network thanks to cooperation of specialists at department of orthopedics and traumatology in O.O. Bohomolets National medical university (head – professor Oleksander Buryanov), clinic of injuries at Military medical clinical center of western region at MD of Ukraine and traumatologists from the 66th Lviv military mobile hospital. Since now the telemedicine network includes 8 facilities, located in departments of traumatology in Kyiv, Irpin, Kharkiv, Lviv, Artemivsk, Odessa, Mariupol and now Pokrovsk.

Thanks to the complex of organizational, financial and technological measures that provide with rendering the remote consulting medical service, telemedicine establishes the conditions, under which a patient or doctor that directly examines and treats receives the remote consulting from other doctor using telecommunications. The usual practice is now the telemedicine consultations as to determination of further tactics for treatment of patients with battle injuries at the stages of medical evacuation, including during performance of operative interferences.

The constant expansion of telemedicine network in the AFU is first of all needed because of armed stand-off in the east of Ukraine as namely telemedicine technologies can simplify the work of doctors, optimize the treatment at stages of evacuation, systematize and standardize the quality in rendering the medical aid.

While joining the new link of project they performed the uniform teleconference bridge between all telemedicine centers of the system, in which the chief traumatologist at MD of Ukraine, chief traumatologists of northern and western regions, specialists from Irpin military hospital took part. They discussed the clinical cases for treatment of patients with fire orthopedic trauma, defined further surgical tactics. Among important issues they considered the necessity in establishment of constant planned weekly teleconsultations between all centers of the system with running the documents that would enable scientifically defining the efficiency of remote medicine.

The implementation of telemedicine system in the 66th Lviv military mobile hospital happened under assistance from deputies in fraction UU “Motherland” in Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, including people’s deputy of Ukraine lieutenant general Vladyslav Bukharev.
