FRANCE APPLAUDS TO MEDICAL STUDENTS AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ON KETTLEBELL LIFTING

Recently Ukrainian sport delegation triumphantly returned from France, where in Lyon, on June 5-9 at the 17th world championship was held on kettlebell lifting sport in pushing through a long cycle among the athletes without limits in age, among the juniors and veterans, as well as the 4th World Cup among students.
Competitions were held according to the Schedule Plan of the International Federation of kettlebell lifting. The competition was attended by 113 athletes from 13 countries. Chief Referee was Stefan Davergne (France).
First place in the complex team standings took athletes of Ukraine, the second place was won by Italian team, the third place was won by the athletes from Belarus.
In the individual competition the athletes of Ukraine won 32 gold, 14 silver and 3 bronze medals and 10 gold and 5 silver medals for relay.
Among the students the first position was won by the team of Ukraine, the second place was taken by the team of Kazakhstan, the third place was taken by the team of Uzbekistan.
In the world championship among students Ukrainian athletes won 7 gold and 3 silver medals.
The national team included athletes of the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University: Oleksander Ihnatenko, Medical Faculty №4, Yuliya Linnik, Medical Faculty no. 2, Halina Diachenko, Medical Faculty №4, who trained at our university athletic club TONUS. The girls won the gold medals in the weight category under 70 and over 70 kg, and Oleksander received a silver award in the weight category under 80 kg. Immediately after the speech, he performed right on the platform incendiary dance named Hopak for which he kept applauses of spectators and participants. An alumni of the athletic club Tonus, Nikolay Tkachuk, who raised two dumbbells each weighing 24 kg, with result of 111 times per 10 minutes, became a world champion in this weight category with a new world record among the students. He became world champion among men and juniors as well as in the team relay, exercising with kettlebell weighing 32 kg.
