THE MEMBERS IN SSC AT DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL MEDICINE AND PUBLIC HEALTH DISCUSSED “GLOBAL BURDEN OF DISEASES – PERSPECTIVES FOR RESEARCHES IN UKRAINE”
The regular meeting of students’ scientific club was held on 14, March, 2018 at department of social medicine and public Health at O.O. Bogomolets NMU. The topic of the meeting was “Global burden of diseases – perspectives of researches in Ukraine”. Assistant at department Ionov M.M. in his report described the urgent issues about epidemics of chronic non-infectious diseases, related to unhealthy lifestyle, imbalanced food and low physical activity. The significant attention was paid to consideration of reasons and analysis for formation of global burden of diseases, performed using indices DALY and QALY in countries of WHO’s European region.
The participants in the meeting with special interest discussed the perspectives for researches on global burden of diseases in Ukraine, issues on development and implementation of complex regional programs on public health protection and promotions for removal or reduction in prevalence of leading risk factors for development of NID that stipulate the burden of early death, sickness rate and disability. Traditionally, the club members discussed the calendar of events for March, which are celebrated by WHO. The notification to World Sleep, Mouth Cavity Health, Down’s Syndrome Person, Tuberculosis, Phthisiologist and Nephrologist Days was made. The meeting also considered the issue about preparation for the 2nd tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works in 2017-2018 a.y. under direction “Preventive Medicine”, which is held in English this year.
