THE 2ND TOURNAMENT IN ALL-UKRAINIAN CONTEST OF STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC WORKS IN SPECIALTY “FUNDAMENTAL MEDICINE” (IN ENGLISH)

30.03.2018

The 2nd tournament in all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works in English in the sphere “Fundamental medicine” took place on 23, March, 2018 at department of physiology at O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. 8 reporters from 4 medical higher schools took part in scientific forum. The departmental contest commission at the head with pro-rector in scientific activity professor T.M. Cherenko selected the best creative works by future doctors-scientists and recommended them for performance at students’ conference.

The head at department of physiology assistant professor I.M. Karvatskyi expressed the assuredness that the today’s forum would become the impulse for new scientific achievements. He also conveyed the greetings to the students-scientists from pro-rector in scientific activity at O.O. Bogomolets NMU professor T.M. Cherenko, rector in PHS “Kyiv Medical University” professor B.B. Ivnev and professor at department of physiology and anatomy at NSC “Institute of Biology and Medicine” at Taras Shevchenko KNU P.I. Yanchuk.

5 students’ works in different sections of fundamental medicine were represented at the conference of the 2nd tournament. The work by Ajala Olamide Michael “Stabilization of magnetite nanoparticles as a way for improvement of their antimicrobial activity” from Poltava SHSU “Ukranian Medical Dental Academy” was devoted to urgent problems of microbiology and clinical pharmacology. The work “The role of endothelin receptor type A allelic polymorphism in the development of ischemic stroke” by Mishchenko Sofiia and Yurchenko Viktoriia (Sumy State University) presented the interesting and original results from relation of allelic variants of C+70G of single nucleotide polymorphism of EDNRA gene with mechanisms for development of ischemic atherothrombotic stroke at patients with different risk factors. The report “The evaluation of cardio-protective properties of nature antioxidants in experimental model of acute ischemic heart disease” by Molchanova Anna and Shcholok Tetiana (Kharkiv National Medical University) presented the results from research of impressive efficiency in antioxidant and cardio-protective impact from extract of blackberry in experimental model of acute myocardial ischemia. The fundamental problems of synaptic plasticity of hippocampus and TT modulation with ketone bodies under physiological conditions were described in report “Influence of ketone bodies on synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus” by Sosnov Mykhailo (O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University). All presented works were very interesting, substantial, fundamental, and, mostly important, have the perspectives for continuation and application in health care practice. The discussions lasted during description of issues about modulation of plasticity for synapsis of hippocampus and cardio-protective and antioxidant impact from extract from blackberry.

Due to decision by jury all works deserve the highest mark and after long and overall analysis the diplomas for the best scientific work were awarded to the following persons: Shcholok Tetiana and Molchanova Anna (Kharkiv National Medical University). All students-scientists received the certificates of participants in final scientific practical conference. The participants in the 2nd tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works within the cultural program got acquainted with the glorious 175 years of history at department of physiology at O.O. Bogomolets NMU and visited the National Museum of Medicine of Ukraine.
