CONFERENCE OF STUDENTS AND YOUNG SCIENTISTS “URGENT PROBLEMS OF MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGY”
The Tenth scientific practical conference of students and young scientists “Urgent problems of modern medical psychology” is held on 21-22, April, 2016 in morphological building of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university. The event is devoted to performance of Days of Medical Psychology and the 15th anniversary since establishment of medical psychological faculty at University.
The organizers of the Conference were the Ministry of health care of Ukraine, O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, Medical psychological faculty, Society of young scientists and specialists, O.A. Kysil SSS.
The Conference was opened by chairman in Scientific council of medical psychological faculty, academician in NAPS of Ukraine, head at department of general and medical psychology and pedagogy, Doctor of Psychology, director of G.S. Kostiuk Institute of psychology, chairman in Society of psychologists of Ukraine, professor Serhii Maksymenko. In his welcome speech to participants he emphasized the importance in development of psychological medical science at present stage. “Ukraine is under conditions of antiterrorist operation, many soldiers and their families require the psychological rehabilitation and our support. Our students are the future of medical psychology and the peace and happiness in families will depend namely on their decisions and actions”, – mentioned Serhii Maksymenko.
Among directions in work of the Conference – new methods for prevention, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation in medical psychology, relation of psychology with other sciences, psychology in medical practice, psychosomatic approach in medical psychology, peculiarities for professional activity of medical psychologists.
The leading specialists in the sphere of psychology – Candidates of Psychology Zinayida Stepanovskykh, Anastasiia Sydorenko, as well as the members on O.A. Kysil SSS and students of medical psychological faculty at O.O. Bohomolets NMU made the reports.
The report “PTSD: Psychotherapy” by head at department of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, academician in AS HE of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, professor Oleh Chaban caused to the great interest. He told about non-admission of long term memory at patients with posttraumatic stress disorders. “It is not necessary to ask people every time about stress situation, where they occurred – the multiple reminding saves the negative event in the memory and it results in severe depressive conditions, from which it is impossible to come out without specialists. One more important moment in treatment of severe posttraumatic syndromes is in frequent transfer of specialist to the role of human and designing the situation of patients on themselves. The task of medical psychology is to use such methods of treatment, which are the most efficient”.
The master classes and psychological games with projective elements will also be held within the Conference.
