INTERDISCIPLINARY MEETING OF STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC CLUBS AT DEPARTMENT OF OPHTHALMOLOGY AND NEUROLOGY

The joint meeting of students’ scientific clubs at department of ophthalmology and neurology on topic “Modern approaches to diagnostics and treatment of disseminated sclerosis and demielinising diseases of nervous system” took place on 21, February, 2018 on the base of department of neurology at O.O. Bogomolets NMU. The event was visited by students of the 3rd-6th courses, doctors-interns and residents at department of ophthalmology and department of neurology of NMU. The meeting was started with welcome speech by head of students’ scientific club at department of neurology assistant Antonenko E.V. and head at students’ scientific club at department of ophthalmology assistant professor Skrypchenko I.D., who emphasized the necessity in performance of joint meetings for clubs, in particular, in connection with importance in early diagnostics of disseminated sclerosis and demielinising diseases of nervous system.

The topics of reports covered the modern aspects in diagnostics and treatment in ophthalmology and neurology, in particular, described the following issues:

  • “Visual and oculogyric disorders at disseminated sclerosis” – intern at department of neurology Kushlyk N.P.
  • “Eye manifestations at Davic’s disease” – member in students’ scientific club in neurology, student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 4 Dikhtiarenko I.
  • “Diagnostics of retrobulbar neuritis” – member in students; scientific club in ophthalmology, student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 2 Honska N.
  • “Eye manifestations of disseminated sclerosis” – member in students’ scientific club in ophthalmology, student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 2 Tsyba S.

The meeting was held in the form of dialog; the participants could take part in discussion, ask questions, which interested them, deepen their knowledge and be the first ones to learn about the most urgent problems in ophthalmology and endocrinology, as well as the ways for their solution.
