YOUNG SCIENTISTS OF UKRAINE AT THE CONFERENCE OF NMU CONSIDER THE INTERESTING CLINICAL CASES
O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University performed the II all-Ukrainian Scientific Practical Conference “Interesting Cases in Clinical Medicine 2018”. The students and young researchers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk and Dnipro went to the scientific event.
The conference became popular thanks to unique clinical cases, which are described in reports by students-participants. According to the words by rector of University Kateryna Amosova, each patient is an original non-typical clinical case, which gives the extraordinary push for development of doctor. “They are the original intellectual challenges, with which the medics face every day. That’s why s scientist in medicine cannot be without clinical mastership, and it starts from your research”, – emphasized the rector.
5% statistical error in calculations is allowed in medicine that is there is the possibility that a certain number of cases would step back from classical predicted norms. As the pro-rector in scientific work Tetiana Cherenko mentioned, the meeting with non-standard examples is very important for medical student, who studies; this experience is accumulated and assists to formation of curious doctor with non-standard approach, who can take the decisions in difficult diagnostic situations.
The participants listened to the reports by students in Ukrainian and English and discussed them at 10 section meetings due to the following directions: internal medicine, general surgery, oncosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and pediatric surgery, anesthesiology and intensive therapy, infectious diseases and dentistry. O.O. Bogomolets NMU pays the great attention to formation of correct attitude and habits for independent scientific work during students’ years. The students during scientific event took part in master classes, performed the analysis of clinical quests, where they demonstrated their mastery of discipline, material, literature, showed themselves as specialists, improved the erudition as clinicians and experience as reporters.
