NEW EQUIPMENT AT DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE OF EMERGENCIES AND TACTICAL MEDICINE

The New Year’s holidays brought the pleasant presents from administration of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University: the department of medicine of emergencies and tactical medicine received the new equipment that increases the range of practical skills, which the students drill while mastering the academic discipline “Pre-medical aid at extreme situations”.

Among them – “Device for immobilization of the head” – the splint that provides with reliable fixation of injured head during transportation. This splint is compatible with all wooden, aluminum and plastic boards for transportation of the injured;

“A set of vacuum splints” – designed for immobilization at dislocations and injuries of joints, suspicion for fractures of extremities and for immobilization of infants;

“Collars for fixation of jugular vertebra” – which provide with fixation of occipital cortex, chin, restriction of flexion, lateral inclinations, rotations. It is regulated in three positions;

“Board-shield” – is used as a burden of rigid type at transportation of injured in fixed position.
