PRACTICE OF DENTAL STUDENTS IN TURKEY

In July 2017, students of the third year of the Stomatological Faculty – Bogdan Remniov, Alina Kutishenko, Nataliia Roshchina, Vladyslav Kushniruk, Mariia Flid, Alina Vakulchuk held practice at the clinic of Istanbul (Turkey). Such an opportunity appeared thanks to the agreement signed between Bogomolets National Medical University and organization ” TSS. SAGLIK TURIZMI TİC.LTD.”, which provides practical training and internships abroad. The practice lasted for one month.

The first week students-dentists spent at the Department of Endodontics. Ukrainian students developed their skills in determining the working length of the tooth via apeks lokator, tool processing of root canal by manual and mechanical methods, constant obturation of channel by method of lateral condensation and method of one core.

The following three weeks students worked at the Department of Surgical Dentistry. They had an opportunity to see many different cases of dento-maxillary anomalies and be present at surgical interferences. Under the supervision of anesthesiologists students were allowed to host the procedure of inhalation anesthesia. They also trained their skills of local anesthesia for performing surgery on the jaw-face area.

The organization of transfer at the clinic was perfect. All departments work within e-queue, which is very convenient for maintenance of patients and doctors. Bacterial purification was performed at the highest level, operational rooms and other premises of the clinic were clean. Students are grateful to administration of the University for their assistance during the practice in Turkey.
