THE 1ST STAGE IN ALL-UKRAINIAN STUDENTS’ OLYMPIAD IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY WAS PERFORMED

The 1^st stage of Olympiad in obstetrics and gynecology, in which the students of the 4^th-6^th courses from medical faculties No 3 and 4 took part, was held on 5, March, 2018 within performance of all-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad at department of obstetrics and gynecology No 2 at O.O. Bogomolets NMU. The participants in the 1^st stage of Olympiad could try their forces not only in individual but team contest.

The organization of event anticipated the performance of contests due to different forms in some stages:

1. solution of situational tasks, tests as an index for theoretical and practical training;
2. quiz-tournament, which anticipated the assessment of student’s ability quickly to find oneself in occupational issue and to define the answer to the question, according to situation;
3. team contest, which demonstrated the ability of student as a future doctor to work and to render the emergency aid in extreme situation, distributing the roles and performing a certain algorithm for practical skills, based on theoretical knowledge and communication skills, accordingly.

The transparency of assessments was provided by conditions for performance of stages and their availability for check of everyone that stimulated both a student and members in commission. The composition of jury included the head at department professor Hnatko O.P. – chairman in jury; assistant professors – Marushchenko Yu.L., Solskyi S.Ya., Drozd O.O., assistants – Skuriatina N.H., Mykailiuta M.A., Manashchuk S.I. Due to results from performed 1^st stage of Olympiad from 9 students, who took part in the event, the prize places were taken as it follows: student of the 6^th course, medical faculty No 3, group 4 – Druzenko Maksym (1^st place), student of the 6^th course, medical faculty No 4, group 4 Tkachenko Olha (2^nd place) and student of the 5^th course, medical faculty No 4, group 9 Karpeniuk Olena (3^rd place).

The final stage in performance of the 1^st tournament among students from three departments of obstetrics and gynecology will define the winners, who will take part in the 2^nd stage of all-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad 2018 in obstetrics and gynecology, which will be held for the second time SHEE “Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University”. All winners of the 1^st stage received the memorable souvenirs.
