THE EMPLOYEES OF SRI ECM RECEIVED THE STATUS OF INTERNATIONAL TRAINERS UNDER PROGRAM FOR TRAINING OF MEDICAL LABORATORIES TO ACCREDITATION

One from criteria for existence of quality management system and work of diagnostic laboratory in the world is the accreditation pursuant to requirements, based on standard ISO 15189:2012. But the performance of accreditation requires the serious preparation and first of all implementation of quality management and control system.

American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in countries with limited resources has successfully implemented and proved its efficiency the Stage-by-stage process for improvement of quality in work of laboratories, based on program “Strengthening Laboratory Management Toward Accreditation” (SLMTA). In January, 2018, according to signed memorandum between ASCP, CDC and MHC, they started implementing the plan for improvement of quality in sanitary hygienic laboratories in countries that are developed in order to achieve the requirements of ISO 15189 standard under SLMTA program.

The team of 24 specialists from the whole Ukraine (that included the employees from SRI of ECM at O.O. Bogomolets NMU – Larysa Natrus and head at laboratory Iryna Ryzhko) passed through two 2 weeks training courses “Training for trainers” to master the methods and techniques for preparation of specialists at laboratory in direction to achieve the conformity to requirements of ISO 15189 standard. The study at Training was accompanied by fulfillment of “Project for improvement in own laboratory” and after successful completion of study the participants received the certificate of Trainer on international level. The final training for 12 participants-leaders under program Laboratory Mentorship with receipt of certificate “Tutor under SLIPTA program” and possibility to join to the accreditation program as mentor or auditor took place on 2-3, April, 2018. Larysa Natrus – director in SRI of ECM received such status.

Scientific Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine
