THE STRIKE AT BOGOMOLETS MEDICAL UNIVERSITY WILL LAST UNTIL FULFILLMENT OF ALL REQUIREMENTS FROM PROTESTING PEOPLE, – STRIKE COMMITTEE OF NMU

The reason for announcement of strike by labor collective and students of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University, which started today on 26, February, was “the unprecedented brutal and illegal interference of management from Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine into dependence and self-government of NMU that is a flagrant violation in provisions of Law “About higher education” and other state acts”. The representatives from strike committee of this higher school declared about it at press conference at Information Agency “Ukrainian News”.

The initiators called that the main reasons for action of protest are the systematic pressure on legally elected administration of higher school for them to run the illegal administrative economical activity, against what the legitimate rector Kateryna Amosova and her deputies stood since the first days after their election.

Besides, the leaders of strike movement mentioned that namely the destructive actions by some executives of MHC and Testing Center, managed by them, caused to breakdown in performance of exam “Krok 1. Dentistry”, that became the formal reason for temporary removal for temporary removal of Doctor K. Amosova from fulfillment of duties of rector at NMU.

“Since today the educational process and scientific activity at Bogomolets NMU are completely stopped for an indefinite period of time. All premises of university will be inaccessible for visitors, except the clinics, where the patients are treated. The right for strike is fixed by Art. 44 in Constitution of Ukraine and Art. 4 in European Social Charter”, – told the chairman in Public Organization “Studdovira”, postgraduate student of NMU Vasyl Hyliuk to journalists.

The leaders in strike committee mentioned that they would stop their peaceful action only after their all requirements would be fulfilled, Kateryna Amosova would completely restored at the post, and the students would receive the guarantees from the Ministry of Health Care in restoration of full value educational examination process.

As Ukrainian News informed, since 26, February, 2018 the students and labor collective of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University announced the permanent strike of higher school. The corresponding notification, placed on official portal of NMU, tells about it.
