SYMPOSIUM IN PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

The symposium “Traumatic injuries in facial site at children” took place on 9, February, 2018 within the 80th specialized exhibition with international participation “Medvin: Expostomat”. The event was organized by Ukrainian Association of Preventive and Pediatric Dentistry” and Ukrainian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The moderators of the symposium were professor at department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention of dental diseases at O.O. Bogomolets NMU Larysa Khomenko, Nataliia Bidenko, Oleksandr Savychuk and assistant professor at department of dentistry of childhood in Danylo Halytskyi LNMU Halyna Solonko.

The reports by employees at department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention of dental diseases, department of surgical dentistry and facial surgery of childhood and employees at Dental Medical Center of O.O. Bogomolets NMU were presented at the symposium.

The symposium was opened by professor Liudmyla Yakovenko, Nataliia Bidenko and assistant professor Tetiana Kovtun with the lecture on topic “Route for diagnostic treatment actions of a child with the tooth trauma according to international protocols. It was mentioned about important cooperation between a dentist-therapeutist and dentist-surgeon for prevention from early loss both of constant and temporary teeth. The assistant at department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention from dental diseases Oleksandr Liutikov reported about modern methods for diagnostics and treatment of complications at traumas of constant teeth at children. Professor Olena Ostapko and assistant professor Olena Plyska made the report on topic “Modern osteoplastic materials and their application at treatment of post-traumatic periodontitis”. Professor Andrii Kopchak described the topic of traumatic injuries of teeth and alveolar process at fractures of bones at facial skeleton. The assistant Rostyslav Yehorov and doctor- orthodontist Vadym Sokolovskyi told about fractures of low jaw at children to the present people. The symposium finished with the discussion about obstacles in the way for success at treatment of teeth injuries at children. It is necessary to mention that the participants in the symposium were both young doctors and interns and experienced doctors and teachers that testify to the urgency of symposium’s topic and high quality of lectures, which were interesting for representatives from different generations of dentists.
