TRAINING FOR TEACHERS ABOUT USE OF INTERACTIVE VOTING SYSTEM EQUIPMENT
On 24, January, 2018, in fulfillment of decision by Scientific Council of O.O. Bogomolets NMU (dd. 07.09.2017), in order to provide with modernization for performance of lectures at University, the representative from official distributor of company “Turning Technologies” in Ukraine Yevhen Ilnytskyi performed the training-briefing for teachers-lecturers about rules for use of equipment for interactive voting and questioning the students during lectures.
Since spring semester the university adds the new format in reading of lectures using the interactive technologies. The duration of such lectures will be 45 minutes. 8 lectures halls will be equipped at University, in particular, in morphological, dental, sanitary hygienic buildings, as well as in clinical bases: Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No 18 and Oleksandrivska Clinical Hospital in c. Kyiv.
The interactive voting systems during lectures serve to improve the efficiency in educational process, operative receipt of feedback with students, as well as involvement of audience at performance of survey and testing. Each participant receives the panel for voting, which is connected with the computer and allows a teacher performing the control of knowledge, received by students, at once outputting the received results to the central receiver in the form of tables, graphs, diagrams, and due to results from survey a lecturer would be able to fix the intermediate results, to perform the analytics. The set of system for interactive voting also includes the software. As the pro-rector in scientific pedagogical activity, assistant professor Olena Stechenko told, the panels allow performing the survey of respondents due to the number of seats in each lecture hall in online mode. “Thus, during a lecture it is possible to use the clinical cases in the form of test tasks in format A (multiple-response tests with 5 possible variants of answer). The voting system allows reflecting the results during presentation on screen and is the important condition to improve the level of knowledge and activity of students. The lecturers of university will receive the instruction for use of equipment in Ukrainian language and will learn its capabilities”.
The system of interactive voting and questioning of audiences is a powerful instrument for establishment of interactive lectures and presentations, improves the concentration of attention and activity of audience, and enables changing the traditional ways of communication with audience, encouraging the participation of students, as well as reinforcing the involvement into the process.
