ANNUAL STUDENTS CONFERENCE AYMSCONF2017
On October 27th 2017 the Annual Young Medical Scientifics Conference (AYMSConf2017) took place at Bogomolets National Medical University.
It is worth to mention, that for the first time in many years AYMSConf2017 was completely held in English.
The opening and closing ceremonies, lectures, master classes, and sectional sessions were also held in English which allowed to attract more English-speaking students from university, all over Ukraine and other countries such as Hungary (University of Pesc), Belarus (Belarusian State Medical University), Moldova (Nicolae Testemitsanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy) and Romania (University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Targu Mures). Students from Donetsk National Medical University, Bukovinian State Medical University, Kharkiv National Medical University, Zaporizhzhya State Medical University, Pyrohov National Medical University, Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy, Poltava Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy, Danylo Halytsky National Medical University have successfully presented results from their studies.
Furthermore English-speaking students from Faculties of training foreing sitizens from our university, as well as from Uzhgorod University and Dnipro Medical Academy participated in AYMSConf2017.
The grand opening of the conference began with the greetings from rector of Bogomolets National Medical University, Professor Kateryna Amosova. At her speech professor K.Amosova congratulated students and young scientists emphasizing the University`s determination to improve the educational process and use of latest methods and world standards in medical education. The key important task for the University is the development and popularization of science among students, the creation of the necessary conditions such as grant programs and access to academic mobility. This year, AYMSConf is held in English, as it is the international language for scientific communication. At the same time, the conference was organized according to international standards for scientific forums that included lectures, workshops, as well as participants’ presentations. Participation in conferences, including AYMSConf, is a great opportunity to share experience among academics, acquire new knowledge and skills, present the results of your research and discuss them with moderators and colleagues during sessions sections. All Ukrainian competition for the best student scientific work, Scientific and practical conference for students, interns and young scientists “Interesting clinical cases”, All Ukrainian student competition with Clinical Pharmacology, sectional sessions of the April Student Scientific Session are a part of the Universities programs to support students role in science. At the end of the speech, the rector wished all creativity, inspiration, new discoveries and achievements. The next greetings to the participants in English was given by the vice-rector for scientific work, MD, professor Tetiana Cherenko. The vice-rector expressed his sincere greetings, wishes of great work to the participants, and also emphasized the importance of holding such events. After that, the first keynote lecture of the conference began – “Classification of sleep disorders. The effect of apnea on the human organism given by prof. Ahmad Nsair MD, PhD (France), dedicated to sleep problems, sleep deprivation and sleep apnea. After the presentation, there was a long discussion, students and young scientists NMU demonstrated significant interest in this matter. The second lecture was followed by the head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, MD, professor Felix Glomcher “Sepsis – antibiotic resistance and the new approaches in treatment”, concerning the extremely urgent problem antibiotic resistance and new approaches to fighting it. The lecture was given by the Ph.D. student of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Yevgeny Demin. The discussion was also attended by the head of the research department of the University A.Dinets PhD, Head of Department of Scientific Work of Students, MD, professor L.L. Pinskiy, dean of medical faculty №3, MD, professor O.V. Vygovskaya, and the head of the Kysil`s student scientific society S.I. Nikolayenko.
The total number of submitted abstracts for the conference was120 abstracts, and 92 passive participants have joined the conference this year. More than a hundred works were approved for the conference after peer-review, which were distributed in 11 section sessions: internal medicine; infectious diseases, clinical immunology and allergology; otorhinolaryngology; preventive medicine; neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and medical psychology; lingvo-culturological aspects of clinical practice; pharmacology, clinical pharmacology and pharmacy; morphology and pharmacology; physiology and pathophysiology; dentistry; durgery.

– Renal suture (Ph.D., Yakovlev P.G., Department of Urology)

At the end of the first day AYMSConf 2017participants had a chance to join the tour around the capital of Ukraine.
