OPEN CUP TO THE MEMORY OF YE.F. HARNYCH-HARNYTSKYI AND CHAMPIONSHIP OF KBLF OF UKRAINE IN KETTLE BELL LIFTING TOOK PLACE

The open cup to the memory of Ye.F. Harnych-Harnytskyi and championship of KBLF of Ukraine in kettle bell lifting was held since 30, March until 1, April, 2018 at sports complex of O.O. Bogomolets NMU. It is not surprising that this tournament is held namely at our higher school. Ye.F. Harnych-Harnytskyi was the doctor due to occupation, graduate from medical faculty at St. Volodymyr University; he was the first one in Ukraine, who in 1895 established the athletic clubs in Kyiv.

The official count of time for foundation of kettle bell lifting in our country starts namely since this historical fact. The present tournament, in which 122 participants from 15 regions of Ukraine took part, demonstrated the great popularity of this kind of sport, and the student of dental faculty Rim Humani represented her Motherland – Republic of Lebanon at the competitions. The hosts of championship athletic club “Tonus” at the head with professor at department of physical health and sports Yu.V. Shcherbyna represented the united team of Kyiv. For the first time in history of competitions in kettle bell lifting in Ukraine the tournament was held among sportsmen with disability. The sportsmen from different aged groups from 14 to 70 years old took part in the energetic struggle for prize places. As a result from athletic marathon the team of Kyiv took the first place, the sportsmen from Kirovohrad region took the second place and the team of Kyiv region took the third place. We should mention the athletes from club “Tonus” Viktor Ivakhnenko, Bohdan Chernenko, Oleksandr Kovalchuk, Vasyl Semenets, Vitalii Tereshchenko, who made the significant contribution into team victory and showed the champion’s results in individual competition. Despite significant successes of athletes-men, the main hero of championship became the student of dental faculty Rim Humani. She demonstrated the worthy sports results. The Federation solemnly awarded her with the certificate of Honorary Master of Sports and the memorial personal prize. Rim has already finished the clinical residency and leaves for Lebanon. This tournament is the farewell accord for her staying in Ukraine. The representatives from Embassy of Republic of Lebanon in Ukraine came to support Rim Humani. She thanked all Ukrainians and assured that she would be a glowing propagandist of kettle bell lifting in Motherland and would try worthily representing Ukrainian medical education in her practical activity.
