OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP OF NMU IN CRICKET

The open Championship of NMU in cricket was held on 25-31, March, 2016 at the stadium of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university. During a week five teams were competed: Warriors, Phoenix, Expendables, which included our foreign students from far India, and two teams from Kyiv medical university of Ukrainian association of folk medicine – Night Hawks and Junior KMU.

The team “Junior KMU” won the victory as a result from long term desperate fight. The winners were awarded with the cup and medals. Last year due to desire of Indian students the department of physical education and health started the work on organization of section work for this kind of sports, being untraditional for our country. As a result from meticulous work, the University today has three rather powerful teams. Our expectations are directed so that the nice start would serve to the further development of this amazing kind of sports at NMU.

Cricket is one of the most popular games in the world, being inferior perhaps only to football due to a number of players. This game is popular in all countries of British Commonwealth, especially in India, Pakistan, Australia, the Caribbean countries.
