“The responsibility of the scientist, who was exposed in academic dishonesty (plagiarism, double publication, falsification of results, etc.) is mainly in moral ethical plain and rarely causes to legal actions. However, the reputation damages of scientist, who is exposed in academic dishonesty, often and often may lead to the end of academic career, as well as significantly damages the reputation of the establishment, where such scientist works. Their scientific product, in particular, publications, will not seriously be perceived by scientific community. For example, if the scientific article in peer-reviewed journal, being indexed in PubMed, contains the false data or plagiarism, so it is not removed, there is the label “Retracted” and the corresponding record in the form of stamp is put to this article in electronic archive of journal, where it was published”, – tells Andrii Dinets.
