PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATE’S THESES BY TWIN BROTHERS
The successful presentation of Candidate’s theses by two twin brothers (a unique case for Ukraine) – Bakunets Petro and Bakunets Yuriy – took place on 2, June, 2016 at specialized Scientific council (D 26.003.03) at O.O. Bohomolets NMU. The main scientific and professional way of twins was closely associated with NMU. Besides, both brothers have the same scientific supervisor – head at department of general surgery No 1 at NMU professor Dronov Oleksii Ivanovych.
Brief background about defenders of theses:
Bakunets Petro Petrovych, since 2000 until 2006 – studied at O.O. Bohomolets NMU in specialty “medical care”. Since 2006 until 2009 – doctor-intern at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU in specialty “surgery”. Since 2009 until 2011 studied in clinical residency at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU. Since 2012 until 2015 he studied at postgraduate course at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU. Since 2011 until present moment he has been working as a doctor-surgeon at V.S. Zemskov Kyiv city Center for surgery of diseases of the liver, biliary ducts, pancreas.
The topic of Candidate’s thesis in medicine in specialty 14.01.03 – surgery “Assessment for efficiency in methods of surgical treatment for patients with pancreas tumor with injury of great vessels”.
Bakunets Yuriy Petrovych, since 2000 until 2006 – studied at O.O. Bohomolets NMU in specialty “medical care”. Since 2006 until 2009 – doctor-intern at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU in specialty “surgery”. Since 2009 until 2011 studied in clinical residency at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU. Since 2011 until 2015 he studied at postgraduate course at department of general surgery No 1 at O.O. Bohomolets NMU. Since 2011 until present moment he has been working as a doctor-surgeon at V.S. Zemskov Kyiv city Center for surgery of diseases of the liver, biliary ducts, pancreas.
The topic of Candidate’s thesis in medicine in specialty 14.01.03 – surgery “Diagnostics, prognosis and prevention of hepatic insufficiency at liver resection”.
Both brothers have the same life and they successfully defended their Candidate’s theses on the same day. All from 19 present members in specialized Scientific council voted affirmatively.
