THE MEETING OF STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC CLUB IN INTERNAL MEDICINE
The meeting of students’ scientific club in internal medicine (supervisor – Candidate of Medicine, assistant professor Bohomaz V.M.) took place on 14, March, 2018 at department of internal diseases at dental faculty of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University on the base of State Establishment “Republican Clinical Hospital at MHC of Ukraine”.
The topic of scientific practical discussion was the important clinical aspect in occupational activity of doctors with different specialization: “Anaphylactic reactions at application of medicines”. The problem interested the students from different faculties as rendering the aid at emergency conditions is one of the most important competences, which shall be acquired while studying at university.
Three students’ reports due to results from research of modern medical literature and national and international regulatory documents in relation to chosen topics were presented at the meeting. The first report “Rendering the medical aid at anaphylactic reactions at adults according to medical technological documents from MHC of Ukraine” was made by student of the 6th course in medical faculty No 4 Chyr Maryna. She described the main clinical manifestations and list of treatment measures at anaphylaxis that are anticipated by existing protocols to render the medical aid to adults. The student of the 6th course in medical faculty No 4 Karvas Nataliia reported the results from research “Safety in use of contrast substances at performance of computer tomography”. In particular, the brief characteristics of modern contrasts, registered in Ukraine, factors for higher risk and contraindications to use of contrast substances in radiological researches. The student of the 5th course in dental faculty Supruniuk O.P. made the report on topic “Anaphylactic reactions, related to application of local anesthetics in dentistry”, where she reminded the present people on modern classification of medicines for local anesthesia and possible risks for their application. All reporters paid attention to the stages of emergency therapeutic measures and procedure for their performance to patients. The training in use of “Epipen” system for automatic administration of adrenalin at extreme medical situations was performed.
The supervisor of the club, assistant professor Bohomaz V.M. made the final report on topic “Risks of medical interferences, informed consent and refusal of patient at receipt of medical aid”, where he mentioned the legal and organizational aspects of medical practice at application of potentially dangerous medical technologies. The concrete medical social situations and procedure for work of doctors at them were discussed in order to prevent from negative legal and financial consequences for medical staff.
