Scientific and methodological seminar “Modern approaches to hazard classification and labelling of chemicals”.

In the framework of cooperation between the Department of Bioorganic and Biological Chemistry and the Institute of Hygiene and Ecology of  NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets  on May 17, 2017, the Bogomolets Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Modern Approaches to Hazard Classification and Chemical Labelling” was held. At the seminar the questions about international approaches to the classification and labelling of hazards were reviewed: Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling of Hazardous Chemicals (GHS) , National Fire Protection Association NFPA 704 ; legislation of the European Union on the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals; and national standards DSTU GOST 31340: 2009 «Precautionary marking of chemical products. General requirements», DSTU GOST 30333: 2009 «Chemical Safety Data Sheet. General requirements». The reports were performed by an assistant of the Department of Bioorganic and Biological Chemistry Ishchenko A. A. (report “Modern approaches to hazard classification and labelling of chemicals in accordance with GOST 31340: 2009″ Precautionary labelling of chemical products. General requirements”) and senior researcher of the Institute of Hygiene and Ecology of NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets, Ph.D., Makarenko MV (report “Analysis of chemical safety cards for disinfection, identifying major threats to public health and the environment”). The event was attended by about 30 people: employees of the Institute of Hygiene and Ecology of NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets , professors of the departments of NMU named after O.O. Bogomolets : bioorganic and biological chemistry, hygiene and ecology № 2, hygiene and ecology № 3, interns in general hygiene.
