Members of the student scientific group of the Department of Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry (Head of the Department – Prof. L.V. Gayova) take an active part in the scientific experiment in the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine. The close interaction of the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine with the Department is also because the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine is the basis for teaching students 5 and 6 years of elective course “Clinical biochemistry and laboratory diagnostics”.

Students disassemble theoretical material in the form of interactive lectures and get acquainted with the work of laboratories in the independent performance of diagnostic studies.

Undergraduate students become familiar with the activities of the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, observing the process of scientific research. The experimental part causes the gteatest interest.

“At all stages of our work, we actively engage our students. Such an approach gives them the opportunity to increase their level of research skills and knowledge, interest in science, to cultivate respect for methodological scientific activity ”, – said Professor Larisa Natrus, Director of the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine.

The student scientific group of the Department of Bioorganic and Biological Chemistry started a cycle of meetings on cancer. On 30.11.16, on Wednesday, the first meeting of the “Biochemical aspects of cancer” was held and was held in English.

On October 26, 2016, a joint meeting of student scientific groups of the Department of Bioorganic and Biological Chemistry and the Department of Ophthalmology took place. A common topic of discussion was Diabetic Retinopathy.

The first organizational meeting of the Student Scientific Center of the Faculty of Medicine №2 was held. This is a brand new project whose main purpose is to create the most comfortable environment for students’ scientific work. It is a combination of theoretical knowledge with its practical application, conducting scientific experiments under the guidance of scientific leaders and the organization of various scientific events.
Natalia Litvinova, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine # 2, spoke at the meeting and expressed her full support for the project and encouraged students of all courses to engage in scientific activities.
The meeting discussed the concept and structure of the Center, which consists of 5 student-scientific circles: the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, the Department of Radiology and Radiation Medicine, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology # 3, the Department of Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry and Human Organ Organ Chemistry.

The structure of the center is divided into departments, including: information department, design department, software department, photography department, Experiment department, English department, current affairs department and planning department. Heads of these departments were selected through student initiative and subsequent open voting.

The heads of departments have developed goals and objectives that are planned to be implemented in the near future.

Each student has the opportunity to participate in this project.
