Department of Pediatrics №2

Foundation of the Department: Department of Pediatrics № 2 of the Bogomolets National Medical University was founded on October 1, 1944 as the Department of Hospital Pediatrics of the Kiev Medical Institute.

Head of the Department: Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Volosovets Oleksandr Petrovych.

The main directions of work: educational and methodical, medical, scientific, educational, publishing.

Students are trained at the Department:

1st year. The elective discipline: «Basics of communication with a child».

2nd year. The educational discipline: «Care of children in the pediatric department». 

2nd year. The elective discipline: «Fundamentals of caring for a healthy child».

3rd year. The educational discipline: «Propedeutics of pediatrics, including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the pediatric department».

4th year. The educational discipline: «Pediatrics, including medical practice (professional training) childhood diseases».

4th year. The elective discipline: «Pediatric gastroenterology, pulmonology and nephrology».

5th year. The educational discipline: «Pediatrics, infectious diseases for children».

5th year. The elective discipline: «Fundamentals of neonatology».

6th year. The educational discipline: «Pediatrics, medical practice (children’s diseases)».

6th year. The elective discipline: «Emergencies in Pediatrics».
