‘NO SMOKING’ CAMPAIGN

On November 17-19, 2015, the 3rd year students of dental faculty of O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University organized A cigarette which costs a life campaign.

The participants exchanged cigarettes by vitamin C candies and told about lungs diseases. They got sweet vitamins and knew about danger of COPD often resulted from smoking.

Students told about the importance of quitting smoking to patients of Kyiv City Hospital No.3.

The mortality from COPD exceeds in two times the mortality from lungs cancer. According to the WHO, the COPD will take the third place of mortality reasons till 2020.

These figures are resulted from two trends: increase of smoking all over the world and change of age structure of population. Concerning other diseases the global forecast says about stabilization and reduction of lethal cases, meanwhile, the mortality from COPD and its expected increase give rise of concern in world community.
