COMMITTEE OF VERKHOVNA RADA APPEALED TO HROISMAN TO CANCEL THE DIRECTIVE BY MHC ABOUT DISMISSAL OF AMOSOVA AT O.O. BOGOMOLETS NMU

The main issue at the meeting of Committee of Verkhovna Rada on issues of health care was the crisis situation that had formed around the leading medical higher school in the country – O.O. Bogomolets NMU. The main task, set by people’s deputies to themselves, was to understand the reasons that caused to the breakdown of examination testing for students under program “Krok 1. Dentistry”, temporary dismissal of elected rector Kateryna Amosova from official duties and the strike of students and teachers that followed after it.

Having listened both to Doctor K. Amosova, and deputy minister of health care O. Linchevskyi, the people’s deputies were surprised by the fact that the representatives from Testing Center, the authority, involved into this conflict, did not come to this meeting.

Hereby, the deputy and former minister of health care Oleh Musii directly mentioned that the representative from Minister of health care Linchevskyi took and defenses the position namely of Testing Center in this situation.

“Some people from Ministry of Health Care behave (in this situation – the editors) unworthy. The principles both of higher school’s democracy and students’ self-government are infringed, – mentioned deputy Musii.

In his turn, the member in relevant committee Serhii Melnychuk paid attention of people’s deputies to the fact about illegitimacy of Testing Center itself.

“No document confirms according to which ground all medical higher schools shall transfer, including budget funds, to this structure to perform the testing. After our meeting I am going immediately to visit NABU with the application about necessity to check this structure”, – emphasized deputy Melnychuk.

Having not received the definite answer from deputy minister of health care O. Linchevskyi, whether he could step down from office of chairman in commission for check of activity by O.O. Bogomolets NMU that in opinion of some deputies relates to the conflict of his official interests, the members in Committee of Verkhovna Rada on issues of health care voted in general for decision to appeal to the Prime-minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman to take the situation as to normalization of activity at O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University under personal control.

The deputies in their appeal ask the Prime-minister, in particular to cancel the order by MHC, according to which rector K. Amosova was temporarily dismissed from her duties and to initiate the check for legality in function and financial activity of Assessment Center at Ministry of Health Care. Besides, the members in relevant committee of Rada ask the head of government to support the students of NMU, who appealed to the members of parliament, with petition to establish the date to perform the testing “Krok 1. Dentistry”.

As Ukrainian News have told, the reason for announcement of strike by labor collective and students of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University, which was started on 26, February, was “the unprecedented brutal and illegal interference by management of Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine into independence and self-government of NMU that is a violent infringement of provisions in Law “About Higher Education” and other state acts”. The representatives of strike committee of this higher school told about it at the press conference at Information Agency “Ukrainian News”
