LECTURE “MODERN TREATMENT OF PAIN” BY SPECIALIST FROM ISRAEL

The lecture by doctor-anesthesiologist, director of “Clinic of Pain” at hospital “Shaarey Cedek”, c. Jerusalem, Doctor Oleksandr Zeldin was held on 19, March, 2018 at O.O. Bogomolets NMU.

Doctor O. Zeldin in his presentation told about the main principles for organization and function of clinic of pain. For the first time the lecturer gave the comprehensive definition of term “pain”, listed and emphasized the main kinds of pain, as well as made the accent that the doctors of any specialty meet with the problem of pain in their practice. Doctor O. Zeldin emphasized that modern medicine now considers the pain not as a symptom of the main disease but as an independent problem that influences on run of the main disease. The lecturer presented the demonstrative statistical data in relation to the number of patients, which address with the problem of pain syndrome to medical establishments. The abovementioned factors stipulated the need that the new medical multidisciplinary specialty was formed 30 years ago. Traditionally, the clinic of pain is the subdivision of anesthesiology department. Doctor O. Zeldin shared his experience in organization of work at his clinic of pain, told about the main kinds of analgetic therapy, which he uses in his practice, having emphasized that the treatment of pain under modern conditions anticipates the use of combined high technology methods.

The lecture caused the great interest among attendants, who put many questions to the lecturer. The event was held under assistance of Israel Cultural Center at Embassy of State of Israel in Ukraine.
