HOLIDAY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE WITHIN THE WALLS OF LEGENDARY ACADEMICIAN V.M. IVANOV THERAPEUTIC CLINIC

The Second readings in memory of professor A.P. Peleshchuk and all-Ukrainian scientific practical conference “Urgent issues of internal medicine”, devoted to 100^th anniversary of SE “Republican clinical hospital at MHC of Ukraine” and 80^thanniversary of department of internal medicine No 3 in Bogomolets National university, were held on 1, October, 2014.

Over 200 interns of different occupations: therapeutists, cardiologists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists, general practitioners, clinical pharmacologists, as well as young scientists took part in the events.

The forums started working at their solemn opening. The rector in Bogomolets National medical university, corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine, professor K.M. Amosova made the introductory speech to the participants, in which he emphasized the extraordinary importance of such events both from scientific and educational point of view and welcomes the collective of department and hospital on occasion of jubilee dates.

The greeting words were also made by other invited guests – famous scientists, public leaders, artists, whose destiny is connected with this legendary clinic and its employees, among them the figure of professor A.P. Peleshchuk is one of the most significant.

The readings in memory of Anatoliy Petrovych started from report by deputy chief doctor on medical issues at SE “Republican clinical hospital at MHC of Ukraine” I.O. Tertyshnyy, who told all present people about hundredth working experience of establishment, his achievements and perspectives of further development. The speech by head at department of internal medicine No 3, professor A.S. Svintsitskyy explained the main milestones of historical way and numerous achievements in the field of practical health care and medical education and science of famous therapeutic school by academician in AS of UkrSSR and AMS of USSR, professor V.M. Ivanov, who is the deserving heiress of famous humanitarian traditions, founded at the beginning of last century by academician F.G. Yanovskyy.

He shared his memories and impressions about moments of communication with the giant of national therapy in the second half of XX century professor A.P. Peleshchuk and academician in NAMS of Ukraine, corresponding member in NAS of Ukraine, professor I.M. Trachtenberg. In his speech Isaac Mykhaylovych fixed upon many urgent problems of nowadays, recollected their discussions and search for possible ways of solution together with Anatoliy Petrovych and other famous figures.

After completion of readings the work of plenary scientific sessions started, at which they heard the reports by leading national scientists from Bogomolets National medical university (corresponding members in NAMS of Ukraine V.Z. Netiazhenko and I.S. Chekman, professors V.O. Moyseyenko, O.A. Burianov, T.D. Nykula, A.S. Svintitskyy, V.V. Khrapach, O.B. Yaremenko, assistant professors V.M. Bogomaz, S.V. Trunova), P.L. Shupyka National medical academy of postgraduate education (academician in NAMS of Ukraine L.A. Pyrig, professors G.A. Anokhina, O.Y. Zharinov, L.V. Khimion), HRSEU “Ukrainian medical dental academy”: (professor I.P. Katerenchuk), Kharkiv national medical university (professor L.V. Zhuravlyova), SE “Institute of nephrology at NAMS of Ukraine” (senior research officer I.M. Shyfris), etc. In their reports they discussed a wide range of problematic issues in modern cardiology, nephrology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, family medicine, clinical pharmacology, plastic surgery, training of therapeutists at pre- and postgraduate stages, ethical and legal principles for activity of doctors under modern conditions.

The following events were also performed within the conference: symposium “Principles for evidence based medicine in practice of doctor-intern” and presentation of Ukrainian version of knowledge base “eMPendium: internal diseases” (http://empendium.mp.pl/ua) – founded exclusively on data of evidence based medicine in modern educational platform, based on handbook “Choroby wewnętrzne – kompendium” (chief editors: professor A. Shcheklik, Doctor of Medicine P. Gayevski). On the following day the lecture was read by chief doctor in laboratory of sleep “UkrTeleMed”, assistant professor Yu.N. Pogoretskyy on topic “Modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome”, as well as meeting of youth section. All reporters brilliantly presented the results of own scientific searches, having demonstrated the deep knowledge on the problems under research. The topics of scientific works covered different aspect of diagnostics and treatment of many diseases of internal organs, the received data distinguished with the scientific novelty and were interesting for practical activity and the conclusions, being made, were reasonable.

All materials of scientific forums were published in journal “Practicing physician”.

The regular tradition was launched last year at Bogomolets National medical university – performance of readings in memory of professor A.P. Peleshchuk and large-scale intern scientific practical conference – has its continuation today, uniting different generations of doctors and developing the scientific pedagogical potential of our alma mater.
