“UNIVERSITY IS A SELF-GOVERNING ORGANIZATION, WHERE THE OFFICIALS CANNOT MANAGE”, – YURII SHCHERBAK

Bogomolets NMU, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine, World Ambassador of Inter-religious International Federation for Global Peace, constant author of Day”: – The meeting of Supervisory Board listened to the report about work of university rector, it was acknowledged to be positive. The second part concerned the things that happened at the higher school. In opinion of members in Supervisory Board, this is the raiders’ operation, impudent and uncompromising, in relation to removal of legally elected rector. The Ministry of Health Care just decided so. The students did not let these pretenders come to the meeting.
We also considered the tragic situation with student from Turkmenistan (Mukaddas Nasirlaieva, – Editorial office); there have been no notifications about her death yet. It was cleared out that the student has infringed the rules for staying in the territory of Ukraine; this is the case of law enforcement bodies. We advised the dean’s office for work with foreign citizens to reinforce the control, including on the part of Ministry of Internal Affairs because it is clear that the department itself is corrupted, hereby the students themselves often offer the money. The dean told that he had met with the parents of disappeared girl, they as if do not blame the dean’s office with anything. As it concerns testing “Krok”, as we understood, the Ministry of Health Care exceed its powers. The deputy minister Oleksandr Linchevskyi came to the meeting of Supervisory Board but he was not let in, and we cannot break the resistance of students because it is forbidden to transfer the meeting into showdown. The students also made speeches and told that this all reminded them on the attempt of revenge from those forces, against which they stood in Maidan.
But the dispute will be settled at court. At the meeting we took the decision about support to Kateryna Amosova because there is a legal way, if they want to dismiss the rector, so, the first pro-rector is appointed instead of it but not the professor from the third ten. I do not understand this. Let the person, who wants to catch this place, tell about it honestly. But what are the grounds? There is the contract between rector and Ministry of Health Care. University is a self-governing organization, where the officials cannot manage. We think that it is necessary to settle this dispute through investigation by law enforcement bodies and not to put the blame immediately to the rector.
As it concerns the strike of students, so, I have the impression that this is the extreme measure to attract the attention of society and state to the fact the raiders’ capture of such large and significant establishment takes place.
