CHARITABLE FAIRS OF STUDENTS TO HELP SICK CHILDREN

19.02.2018

For two months in 2018 (January-February) the students from medical faculty No 3 performed two charitable fairs in order to collect the money for children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). About UAH 5,000 were collected. The students on their own made New Year, Christmas decorations, postcards, things on New Year and Christmas topics. The fair was held on 11, January and 14, February, 2018. No one remained indifferent to the action – either organizers, or guests. All tried to help with materials, finances, finished products, activity or just moral support. We are grateful to all for support and belief in our forces. The students from other faculties every time join to participation in charitable fairs. Thus, the students from medical faculty No 1 and No 2 joined to the fair, which was held on St. Valentine’s Day.

Reference: Spinal Muscular Atrophy – a rare nervous muscular disease that is accompanied by loss of motoneurones and progressive atrophy of muscles that causes to early disability. The disease is caused by genetic defect in gene SMN1, which contains protein SMN. The low level of protein content leads to loss of cells function in the anterior horn and atrophy of muscles. Create the good! There are many children around that require our help.
