MEMORY DAY OF VOLODYMYR YURYCHKO – A DEVOTED PATRIOT OF UKRAINE
Already more than three years passed since tragic day for death of Volodymyr Yurychko, student of the 3rd course in medical faculty No 3 at O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. He was one of the best students. The future doctor was not trained to the war and the war called him to the rows of defenders of Ukraine that he loved most of all.
Volodymyr was born on 3, April, 1994 in Sambor of Lviv region in the family of doctors. Since the first days of Revolution of Dignity he was among its most active participants and after wounding in Maidan he was one of the first, who went to the East of Ukraine with weapons in arms to defend its independence. During formation of voluntary battalion “Aidar” he joined to it. He worked as a medical orderly at the front, later – assistant machine gunner. In July-August, 2014 he became a machine gunner at reconnaissance and sabotage group. Volodymyr Yurychko perished on 13, August, 2014 during fulfillment of military tasks.
The University opened the memorial plaque in honor of the Hero, launched the inter-university volleyball tournament, named after Volodymyr Yurychko, lecture hall No 4 in morphological building has his name, and the best students of University receive Volodymyr Yurychko personal scholarship.
We will never forget the Hero!
