SCIENTIFIC PRACTICAL SEMINAR ON ISSUES ABOUT AID TO INJURED WITH BULLET WOUNDS

The actuality in performance of this event was stipulated by urgent necessity in overall analysis of aid, mistakes and complications in injured and wounded. The recent events in Ukraine and c. Kyiv in particular demonstrated that bullet wounds are the prerogative not only of military field surgery but each doctor must know and be ready to render the aid to patients with bullet and mine-blast wounds.
The head at department of Traumatology and orthopedics at NMU O.A. Burianov made the welcome speech to the present people. They honored the memory of the perished from Nebesna Sotnia by minute of silence.
The leading specialists of surgical and orthopedic traumatological profile with military field surgery read the cycle of lectures, devoted to bullet wound, principles for medical assortment of injured and wounded, mine-blast traumas, thoracic-abdominal trauma (professor Ya.L. Zarutskyy, Doctor of Medicine A.M. Laksha, assistant professor V.V. Burluka, etc.).
Not only orthopedists-traumatologists from Kyiv and Ukraine but doctors from primary chain and paramedics took part in seminar. The witnesses of events that happened in the center of Kyiv in December 2013 – February 2014 took part in discussion. In the assembly hall there were no vacant seats for all, who desired to listen to reporters, who shared their impressions and experience and their instruction and advice were especially important. The speeches by doctors, whose establishments rendered the aid to wounded, were of significant interest. They emphasized the main aspects in assortment of injured and phasing in rendering the aid. The special accent was made to prohibition to sew bullet wounds, specificity in treatment and performance of primary surgical treatment. The participants in seminar came to unanimous conclusion that in order to render the aid it is necessary to have enough forces and facilities, that there are problems for non-completeness at national medical preventive establishments and that it is necessary to develop the recommendations and standards to render the aid to patients with bullet wounds.
After completion of cycles of lectures professor O.K. Popsuyshapka and Candidate of Medicine A.N. Kostiuk performed the master class on application of different designs for apparatuses of external fixation (AEF) for extrafocal osteosynthesis. The main accent was directed to efficiency in application of AEF, quickness in its application and easiness in use.
