THE RESULTS FROM MEETINGS OF STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC CLUB AT DEPARTMENT OF PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
5 meetings for students’ scientific club at department of pathophysiology at O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University (head – professor Kryshtal M.V.) were held for the Ist semester in 2017-2018 academic year.
The 1st meeting (18.10.2017) solved a number of organizational issues about planning the activity of the club for academic year, approval of topics and directions for scientific papers, election of the new club monitor. The students in the IV course in medical faculty No 1 Hrishov Andrii (winner in students’ scientific conference in April of 2017) was elected to the post of the new club monitor.
Taking into consideration the desire by students-members in the club, the previous topics pf SRW by students and advice from scientific supervisor of the club – professor Ziablitsev Serhii Volodymyrovych, the directions for work of students’ scientific club were chosen, in particular the special attention is paid to pathology of organs of endocrine system, pathogenesis and mechanisms for development of diabetes mellitus.
The topics of the meetings were as it follows:
Meeting No 1 – “Organizational meeting of SSC of Pathophysiology” (date of performance – 18.10.2017), meeting No 2 – “Molecular genetic pathology at diabetes mellitus” (date of performance: 08.11.2017), meeting No 3 (extraordinary) – master class “Basics of tumor immunotherapy” (date of performance: 27.10.2017), meeting No 4 – “Urgent issues of pathophysiology. Reports by students” (date of performance: 29.11.2017), meeting No 5 – “Pathology of immune system” (date of performance: 20.12.2017).
13 reports and 1 master class from club members, reports about scientific activity during summer period of 2017 (Prof. Ziablitsev S.V., assistant Myronenko O.O., club monitor Hrishov A.A.) were listened to during the meetings of the club.
It was collectively decided to perform the meeting of the club once per 3 weeks, on Wednesday at 17:00 at department of pathophysiology.
All members in club during speeches were equipped with multimedia accompaniment using projector, PC, multimedia board, laser pointer.
The students – members in club visit the open meetings of O.A. Kysil SSS and lectures from Cycle of Continuing Scientific Education for Young Scientists and Members in O.A. Kysil SSS.
SSC at department of pathophysiology closely cooperates with SRI ECM (director – Prof. Natrus L.V.), involving the members in club into learning the laboratory methods of research, getting acquainted with the methods for collection of clinical material, its preservation and processing, application of results for further scientific activity. The members in club at department of pathophysiology express the great gratitude for assistance in implementation of their young scientific interests personally to Professor Natrus Larysa Valentynivna and the whole collective of SRI ECM, as well as for participation of Larysa Valentynivna in meetings of club.
It is also necessary to mention that the format of announcements about meetings in the form of A3, A4 posters and notifications in social networks http://www.facebook.com/groups/pathophysiology.nmu/, was changed; the system to run the documentation was updated, the protocols for meetings of club, which include the agenda, the table of club members, present at the meeting, and the directives for the next meeting, were completely updated.
So, we are sure that the new semester will bring the new results and achievements. We thank all club members for the interest for the science, motivation and aspiration for the best, as well as head at department Prof. Kryshtal Mykola Vasyliovych, scientific supervisor Prof. Ziablitsev Serhii Volodymyrovych, assistant Myronenko Oleh Ihorovych, club monitor, student of the 4th course in medical faculty No 1 Andrii Andriiovych.
