PRESS CONFERENCE AT INFORMATION AGENCY UKRINFORM

The press conference “Will the collective of Bogomolets National medical university be able to close the doors in front of corruption for ever and not to admit ex-rector V.F. Moskalenko to power?” will be held at Ukrainian information agency UKRINFORM on 01, October”.

The following persons took part in the press conference: Minister of health care of Ukraine Oleg Musiy, rector in Bogomolets National medical university Kateryna Amosova, advocate, partner of law form “Gvozdiy and Oberkovych” Anzhelika Sytsko; chairman in PO “STUDDOVIRA” at Bogomolets NMU Vasyl Giliuk.

Ex-rector of Bogomolets NMU Vitaliy Moskalenko still hopes to return the former post to himself. At the end of September, the medical university received the judgment by the Highest specialized court on consideration of civil and criminal cases, from which it became known that Vitaliy Moskalenko submitted the cassation against judgment of Court of Appeal in city Kyiv, which established that the dismissal of Vitaliy Moskalenko had been within the Law.

The collective of Bogomolets National medical university expresses the mistrust to ex-head Vitaliy Moskalenko and fights for non-admission of his return to the chair of rector.

“The University has not been waiting for ex-rector Moskalenko. I myself will do my best so that the history of National medical university in struggle against corruption was the history of success”, – told Kateryna Amosova.

According to the words of effective rector in university, “the checks, which were performed, show the tremendous misuses by the former head of university – from embezzlements of university property up to outspoken plundering the tangible assets of the university”.

According to results of the check by State financial inspection of Ukraine, the financial misuses for the sum of UAH 22 millions were found out for the period since 01.10.2010 until 01.08.2014. And it is not the only fact of corruption and abuse of official position, which took place. The law enforcing bodies actively reveal all “worked out” during previous years.

According to the words of Oleg Musiy, ex-rector Moskalenko transformed the leading medical university of Ukraine into a greatest mechanism of corruption. Vitaliy Moskalenko was one of the pillars of corruption, on which the old health care system in Ukraine was based. That’s why the students rose against him and the collective at its meeting expressed the mistrust to him with majority of votes.

“It was found out that the rector overestimated he salary, which he received, the accounting department of NMU had the reporting documents not in full volume. All these data were informed to the law enforcing bodies and the criminal proceeding was registered under these circumstances. NMU, as before, will take an active part in consideration of this case, in particular, the university expressed its opinion about disagreement with position of cassation appeal”, – told advocate Anzhelika Sytsko.

The students and public active members are also ready to defend the university.

“No matter what judgments of judges will be, the foot of Moskalenko will not cross the threshold. We will carefully and in details keep up with the judgments by court. We hope very much for the honest and just judgment in the name of free and independent Ukraine”, – summed up Vasyl Giliuk.
