THE FIRST STAGE OF ALL-UKRAINIAN STUDENTS’ OLYMPIAD IN SPECIALTY “DENTISTRY”
The 1st stage of all-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in specialty “Dentistry” took place on 6, February, 2018 at dental faculty of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.
17 students from the fifth and fourth courses in dental faculty took part in the Olympiad. The students responsibly prepared for the Olympiad, they had to perform six tasks in all sections of dentistry: to solve the situational tasks, to interpret the results from various researches, to define the types and prescription of certain apparatuses, etc.
The dean of dental faculty, professor Nataliia Bidenko welcomed the participants in the Olympiad. The composition of jury included the representatives from all field-specific departments: therapeutic dentistry, orthopedic dentistry, surgical dentistry and facial surgery, pediatric therapeutic dentistry and prevention of dental diseases, surgical dentistry and facial surgery of childhood, orthodontics and propedeutics of orthopedic dentistry.
Most students successfully coped with tasks; the level in preparation of participants in the Olympiad satisfied the captious jury. The student Viacheslav Vedenieiev gained the certain victory among students of the 5th course (it was him, who last year achieved the second place in the 2nd tournament of the Olympiad in c. Poltava); Mariia Krupych took the second place. The third place was divided between three graduates, the difference between whose total results was minimal: Dmytro Zhylchuk, Pavlo Burlakov and Polina Merkulova. Oleksandr Vasyliev got the victory among students of the 4th course; Olha Kichapina took the second place, Karina Yurchenko – the third place. The team of winners and prize winners in the first tournament will soon defend the honor of University in the II stage of Olympiad that will be held at Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy in c. Poltava.
