VISIT OF SPECIALISTS IN FACIAL SURGERY FROM THE NETHERLANDS TO UNIVERSITY

The 7^th International scientific practical conference “Modern dentistry and facial surgery” with participation of leading specialists from the Netherlands took place on 13, May, 2016 under support of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university at National military medical clinical center “GVKG”.

The scientific event was devoted to the 175^th anniversary of O.O. Bohomolets NMU, 120^th birthday of the head at department of surgical dentistry professor Fetysov, 90^th birthday of participant in the Great Patriotic War, graduate from Kyiv medical institute, professor at department of dentistry in Zaporizhe SMU Ihor Berdiuk and 20^th anniversary of Ukrainian Association of facial surgeons.

The students of the 5^th course in dental faculty of O.O. Bohomolets NMU, teachers at department of surgical dentistry and facial surgery, military doctors, employees of military hospital, civil specialists, heads at departments of universities in Ukraine, attendants of Military medical academy of Ukraine, facial cosmetic surgeons from the Netherlands took part in the conference.

At the conference they discussed the modern achievements of national nanomedicine, virtual planning of reconstructive operations using the specialized software, situations with treatment of participants in ATO, wounded into the face. The reports by foreign colleagues on the following topics – “Principles for formation of local skin flaps on the face”, “Reconstructive operations at patients”, “Contribution of Y. Esser into reconstructive surgery of the face” were interesting.

The foreign guests of the Conference within the event visited O.O. Bohomolets National medical university.

Famous professors, facial cosmetic surgeons from the Netherlands – Klaas W. Marck, Jan Sluimers and Kateryna Bogomolova visited the department of surgical dentistry and facial surgery at Dental medical center, learnt its history and achievements, as well as the department of orthopedic dentistry. During the visit Dutch surgeons examined the clinical base of dental faculty, attended the clinical bases of departments. The guests expressed the interest to the possibility for further cooperation and mutual work in the sphere of facial surgery with National medical university and department of surgical dentistry and facial surgery.
